Robert Leib
Head Coach - Women's Soccer/Softball
Bob Leib entered his
32nd year of UMF coaching in the fall of
2001. He came to UMF after eight years as assistant soccer and baseball
coach at the University of Delaware.
Leib’s soccer teams have never had a record under .500 after thirty-two
years of coaching. After twenty-five years, Leib’s UMF men’s record is 260-94-34, with
five MAC titles and five runner-up performances. He has been named
District Coach of the Year four times, Regional Coach of the Year twice,
and State of Maine Coach of the Year three times.
Leib started coaching both the men’s and women’s soccer teams in 1996
and has a six-year women's record of 101-41-6 with three conference
championships, one NAIA Region 10 championship and participated in the
NAIA national tournament in 2002 and the NCAA New England Regional Final
Four in 2003. Leib was selected as women's soccer coach of the year
in 1998. In 1994, Leib took over the UMF softball program
after coaching baseball for sixteen years. His teams have achieved a
192-122 record with one conference title in 1998–the same year he received Coach of the Year
and have participated in two NAIA regional tournaments. His
softball teams have never had a losing record.
