Sports Medicine

Mission Statement

The sports medicine program at University of  Farmington will provide for the health and safety of the student-athletes of the university. It will do this through monitoring pre-participation clearance, conditioning, injuries, protective equipment/devices, nutritional concerns, maintenance of safe playing fields and facilities, and any other matter that would affect the health or safety of the student-athlete. The program will work with both the UMF community and the Town of Farmington community to enhance its services.

Program Overview

The sports medicine program is staffed by a Licensed Certified Athletic Trainer (LATC) who is present at all practices and home events. The LATC provides medical coverage to all varsity teams and all club sport teams. The LATC will occasionally travel with teams to away events, in particular postseason competitions. There are also student athletic trainers who have first aid and CPR training, who assist in covering practices and events.
