2001 Season Review

The 2001 softball season started with an 8-0 run. During the middle of the season, the Beavers beat Husson 4-3 with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and won a great 3-2, twelve-inning contest against the St. Joseph’s Monks. The Beavers finished second in the MAC and were invited to the NAIA Independent Playoffs. The team lost a hard-luck 3-1 game to Green Mt. for the right to go to the Regionals in New Jersey. The Beavers finished 16-11 and did not play one home game due to the late snow melt. Becky Roak ’01, Dorice Reitchel ’04 and Richelle Dube ’03 made the All-Conference Team. Roak and Molly Leopin ’01 finished their softball careers with solid performances throughout most of the season.
