Buchheit named assistant athletic trainer FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington Director of Athletics, Fitness & Recreation Julie Davis recently named April Buchheit as the assistant athletic trainer. Buchheit has spent the past two academic years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Maine. Her assignments included football, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's soccer, track and field, cross country and softball teams. As an undergraduate, Buchheit served as the athletics events manager and office assistant at Colby Sawyer College. A resident of Wilton, Buchheit graduated with a bachelor of science in exercise and sport sciences from Colby-Sawyer in 2007 and a master's of education in kinesiology and physical education from Maine in 2009.
