10/30/09 Men's cross country set to compete at NACs FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team is scheduled to compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday at 11 a.m. at Green Mountain College. The Beavers -- winners of four of the last six NAC titles -- placed second to Lyndon State College in 2008. This year's field include teams from Castleton, Green Mountain, Johnson State, Lyndon State, Maine Maritime and Thomas. Cam Betts (Gray, ME) has been named the NAC Runner of the Week on two occasions this season, while Jeremiah Roper (Bangor, ME) has twice been honored as the NAC Rookie of the Week and Ansel Mallonee (Wilton, ME) has been recognized once. In 2008, Betts, Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) -- a two-time NAC runner-up -- and Ty Thurlow (Lee, ME) earned All-NAC First Team honors, while Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) was named to the All-NAC Second Team.
