FARMINGTON --The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team swept the first five places in the five-mile race to win the UMF Invitational crown today at Mt. Blue High School.
The Beavers accumulated a perfect score of 15 for the win. Farmington was followed by Johnson State (68), Maine Maritime (72) and Thomas (80).
Cam Betts (Gray, ME) won the individual title with a time of 29:06.94. Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) at 29:31.27, Pat Pozzetti (Portland, CT) at 29:45.52, Jeremiah Roper (Bangor, ME) at 30:12.74 and Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) at 30:44.25 completed the Beavers' total.
Farmington is scheduled to return to action next weekend at Colby, while the Mariners and Terriers are off. Johnson State and Green Mountain are slated to compete in the Vermont State Championships at Johnson, Vt., next Saturday.
