WATERVILLE --The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team finished in seventh place at the State of Maine Championships today at Colby College.
Bowdoin College won the competition with 29 points to edge the University of Southern Maine (34). Bates College (75), Colby College (123), University of New England (179), Maine Maritime Academy (184), Farmington (195), St. Joseph's College (263), Thomas College (266) and University of Maine at Presque Isle (266) rounded out the field.
Cam Betts (Gray, ME) placed 34th to lead the Beavers. Betts clocked a time of 28:56.10 on the five-mile course. Pat Pozzetti (Portland, CT) at 60th in 29:58.90, Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) at 73rd in 30:44.90, Jeremiah Roper (Bangor, ME) at 79th in 30:53.70 and Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) at 84th in 31:20.50 completed Farmington's scoring.
Colman Hatton of Bowdoin College was the individual champ. Hatton toured the course in 26:29.90.
Farmington is off until Oct. 31 when the Beavers are scheduled to compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Green Mountain College.
