WATERVILLE --The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country squad opened its season today in the Colby College Class Wave Relay Carnival..

In the junior/senior event, Bates won with 20 points with Colby (39) second. Farmington did not have a team score with Pat Pozzetti (Portland, CT) placing 13th at 17:35.42 and Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) ending up 17th at 18:15,46.

In the freshman/sophomore competition, Bates was first at 15 points followed by Colby (51) and the Beavers (82). Cam Betts (Gray, ME) was Farmington's top finisher in 15th at 17:27.92.

Farmington is scheduled to return to action next weekend as the Beavers head to the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
