Cross country hosts UMF Invitational
FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's cross country team hosted the UMF Invitational today at Mt. Blue High School.
Bowdoin College won the men's 8,000-meter race as the Polar Bears totaled 25 points. Maine Maritime Academy slipped past the Beavers, 50-53, for second place.
Bowdoin's Charlie Berdahl paced the field with a time of 29:17.09. Farmington's Ty Thurlow (Lee, ME) and Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, with Thurlow clocking in at 29:49.95 and Cenga at 29:58.18. The Beavers' scoring was rounded out by Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) in 13th at 31:40.44, Matt Cornelius (Duxbury, MA) in 19th at 33:15.55 and Pat Pozzetti (Portland, CT) in 20th at 33:18.70.
Farmington is scheduled to return to action next Saturday when it travels to St. Joseph's College.
