Men's cross country 8th at States
CUMBERLAND -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team finished in eighth place out of 10 teams at the State of Maine Championships today at Twin Brook Recreational Area.
Bowdoin College won the title with 34 points with University of Southern Maine (42) and Bates College (52) close behind. Colby College (153), Maine Maritime Academy (169), St. Joseph's College (179), University of New England (184), Farmington (198), University of Maine at Presque Isle (229) and Thomas College (328) rounded out the field.
Cam Betts (Gray, ME) was the Beavers' top finisher in the 8K race in 40th place at 28:32.19 with Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) at 46th in 28:46.33 and Ty Thurlow (Lee, ME) at 49th in 28:55.94 also cracking the top 50. Cam Fecteau (Gorham, ME) at 79th in 30:11.95 and Pat Pozzetti (Portland, CT) at 94th in 31:15.38 completed Farmington's scoring.
Southern Maine's Tyler Jasud was the top finisher at 25:47.82.
The Beavers are scheduled to return to action Nov. 1 at the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Johnson State College.
