Men's cross country hosts invitational
FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team hosted the UMF Invitational at Mt. Blue High School on Saturday with Bowdoin College winning the event.
The Polar Bears totaled 22 points followed by the Beavers (46 points) and Maine Maritime Academy (73).
UMF's Tim Millett (Gorham, ME) broke up a clean sweep by Bowdoin with a third-place finish of 28:46 on the 8,000-meter course. Other scorers for UMF included Kel Cenga (Brewster, MA) in seventh, Peter Delano (Rockport, ME) in 10th, Ty Thurlow (Lee, ME) in 11th, Chris Durkin (Brunswick, ME) in 14th, John Zwetsloot in 16th and Matt Cornelius (Duxbury, MA) in 18th.
Bowdoin's Colman Hatton won the race with a time of 27:53.
The Beavers are scheduled to compete at St. Joseph's on Oct. 6.
