Neil garners NAC honors
FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington senior forward Ted Neil (Strong, ME) was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference today.
Neil helped the Beavers to a 3-0 week with a pair of career-high scoring nights. Neil tallied 25 points, including five 3-pointers, in a win over Johnson State and, the following afternoon, scored 26 points with eight 3-pointers in a victory over Lyndon State. On the week, Neil averaged 18.3 points per game connecting on 20 of 32 field goal attempts (62.5 percent), including 13 of 22 threes (59.1 percent).
This is the first time Neil has received weekly accolades from the NAC. Neil is the second Farmington men's basketball player to be recognized this season. Junior forward Josh Tanguay (Gorham, ME) shared the award on Dec. 15.
The Beavers (6-8) are scheduled to visit Bates College Tuesday. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
