Men's basketball blisters nets in win at Thomas
WATERVILLE — The University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball shot a stunning 59.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc in rolling to a 79-43 North Atlantic Conference win this afternoon.
The Beavers ran their record to 11-12 overall and 7-4 in the NAC with a trip to Maine Maritime Academy slated for Tuesday. The Terriers dropped to 9-14 (2-9).
Thomas trailed by the score of 36-16 at halftime, and the second half didn’t prove to be any better as Farmington ran away with the win. The Beavers spread the wealth as every player except three recorded a point during the contest and only two players reached double-digit scoring. Isaac Hutchinson (Oakland, ME) led the Beavers with 11 points as teammate Patrick Howell (Nobleboro, ME) scored 10 off the bench and Ted Neil (Strong, ME) and Kevin Leary (Manchester, ME) each added nine points.
Thomas’ Andrew Duncanson (Westbrook, ME) provided the only offense for the Terriers in the first half, scoring 14 of their 16 points. He finished the game with 21 points.
