Fry leads men's basketball to victory at Husson
BANGOR -- Sean Fry (Jay, ME) poured in a career-high 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball team to an 83-73 North Atlantic Conference victory at Husson College on Monday.
Fry's point total was the highest single-game amount for the Beavers since Bobby Deetjen scored 36 points in an 80-76 win over Lyndon State College on Jan. 26, 2002.
The Beavers ran their record to 5-3 with a 2-0 mark in the NAC, while the Eagles fell to 3-3 (0-1).
Farmington held a 44-36 advantage at intermission, but Husson fought back to a 54-53 edge on a Matt Mackenzie jumper with 14:12 left in the second half. The game was knotted at 59-59 when the Beavers went on a 9-0 run over the next 3:14 to take a 68-59 advantage with 8:14 remaining in the contest.
Following Fry, Isaac Hutchinson (Oakland, ME) chipped in 14 points with Andrew Dean (Gorham, ME) adding 11 points.
Scott Kissinger led Husson with 22 points, while Sheraud Lee pitched in with 12 points.
