Fry adds to weekly accolades

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington senior forward Sean Fry (Jay, ME) was named the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Player of the Week as announced today.

Fry was named the North Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday. Story

Fry powered the Beavers to a 64-61 win over in-state rival St. Joseph's with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Fry hit a pair of 3-pointers and was 8 for 10 from the foul line in the win.

Fry was an All-NAC Second Team honoree last season as a junior.

The Beavers were selected fifth in the weekly MMBCWA coaches poll. Farmington received nine points. The poll was filled out by Bowdoin College (32), Colby (31), Husson (16) and the University of Southern Maine (15).

Farmington (2-1) is scheduled to host NAC and in-state foe Thomas College on Wednesday at Dearborn Gym. The women's game is tabbed for a 5:30 p.m. start with the men to follow.
