Men's
basketball slips at Colby
WATERVILLE
-- Colby College placed four players in double-figures as the Mules rolled to a
71-45 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in men's basketball
action this evening.
The Beavers dropped to 8-11 and
are scheduled to visit North Atlantic Conference foes Lesley (Friday) and
Wheelock (Saturday).
Isaac
Hutchinson (Oakland, ME) led Farmington with 15
points and Matt St. John (Wayne, ME)
finished with nine points. This is the second time this season the Mules
(11-10)defeated the Beavers. Colby took an 83-77 win over Farmington on Dec. 2
in Dearborn Gymnasium.
Michael Russell (Wellesley, MA) finished with 15 points,
16 rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots to lead the Mules. Colby
also received 12 points and three assists from Adam Choice (Newport, RI). Justin
Sherman (Piedmont, CA) had a nice all-around game with 10 points, seven assists,
and six rebounds for the Mules. Mark Gaudet (Bingham, ME) also had 10 points,
Gil Haylon (Wellesley, MA) nailed three 3-point shots for nine points, and Artie
Cutrone (Garden City, NY) had five assists.
The Mules led 34-24 at halftime and had a 43-34 lead with 16 minutes remaining.
However, Colby went on an 18-4 run from that point to open a 61-38 margin.
