Kenison propels field hockey by Simmons
BOSTON -- Samantha Kenison (Gorham, NH) scored off an assist by Ashley Wentworth (North Berwick, ME) on a first-half penalty corner to lead the University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Simmons College today in North Atlantic Conference competition.
The Beavers ran their record to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. Farmington is scheduled to visit Colby College on Wednesday for non-conference action. Simmons dropped to 1-8 (0-2).
Kenison's score came at 16:29 in the contest. The Beavers held an 8-3 advantage in shots, while the Sharks carried an 8-5 edge in penalty corners.
Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) stopped two shots for Farmington.
Jen Szkolt made one save for Simmons.
