Field hockey earns national honors
The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team was honored today as one of the recipients of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's Division III National Academic Award.
The award is presented to teams achieving a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the season. The Beavers were one of 97 NCAA Division III teams to receive the honor.
This is the sixth straight season that the Beavers have been a recipient of the award. The NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad is scheduled to be released later this week.
Farmington finished its season at 8-8.
