Barker named to All-New England East team

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington senior goalkeeper Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) was selected for the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-New England East First Team as announced by the association today.

This is the third time Barker has been recognized by the NFHCA for regional accolades. Barker was named All-New England First Team in 2007 and All-New England Second Team in 2006.

Barker -- the first Beaver to win the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year since Fawn Albert in 2002 -- is a three-time All-NAC First Team honoree. Barker ranked nationally in save percentage (13th, .830) and saves per game (42nd, 7.8).

A four-year starter for Farmington, Barker started all 16 games for the Beavers this season with 25 goals allowed in 1091:18. She recorded three shutouts.

Longstreth/NFHCA All-Americans are scheduled to be announced on Nov. 24.
