Field hockey blanks Simmons
BOSTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team notched a 3-0 win over Simmons College in North Atlantic Conference action on Monday.
The Beavers ran their record to 10-4 overall and 7-1 in NAC play. Farmington is scheduled to visit St. Joseph's for its regular-season finale on Wednesday.
The Beavers posted a 2-0 lead at intermission with an unassisted goal from Alyssa St. Pierre (Jay, ME) and Erika Lucas (Augusta, ME) converted a feed by Beth Marshall (York, ME) on a penalty corner. Kristin Chambers (Gorham, ME) padded the lead to 3-0 with an unassisted score in the second half.
