Baseball fourth in NAC preseason poll

FARMINGTON  -- The University of Maine at Farmington baseball team was placed fourth in the North Atlantic Conference in a preseason poll conducted by conference's coaches and announced by the conference today.

The Beavers went 9-19 last season and 5-7 in the NAC to finish tied for fourth place.

Castleton State College was chosen as preseason favorite of the NAC. The Spartans, who finished last season atop the NAC standings, received four first place votes and a total of 33 points in the poll. Husson College received two first place votes with 32 points. Farmington accumulated 18 points.

The Beavers are scheduled to open the season on March 21 at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
