Dean named NAC Rookie of the Week
FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington freshman outfielder/pitcher Andrew Dean (Gorham, ME) was named the North Atlantic Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference this evening.
Dean shined in his collegiate debut on the mound for the Beavers. The freshman tossed six innings of four-hit shutout ball for Farmington in a victory over Presque Isle. The regular rightfielder, Dean also clubbed two hits with an RBI in a loss to Bates.
The Beavers (5-14) are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday at Colby College. The single game is tabbed for a 3 p.m. start.
